Change of Principals, but No Change in Principles

For the last 59 years St. James School has been blessed with the presence, ministry, and leadership of the Sisters of the Divine Spirit. It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that the sisters will not be returning for the 2016-2017 school year. Come September, there will be a change of principals, but there will be no change in the principles, values, and work ethic that have empowered our graduates to be successful in high school and beyond.

In her tenure as principal, Sr. Colette has always led by example, not by decree. Consequently, Mrs. Norton, who has benefited from Sr. Colette’s guidance and mentoring, is prepared to assume the position of interim principal.  She has the credentials, experience, and interpersonal skills to ensure that the school’s traditions continue and that our students remain prepared: prepared academically, morally, and socially for the challenges they’ll face in life. We are fortunate to have someone of her caliber able to assume this important leadership role. To show our gratitude and appreciation for their outstanding dedication and years of service to our parish and school, we will host an open house for the sisters this fall at St. James Place. The date and details regarding this event will be finalized shortly.

Sincerely,

Fr. James P. McCormick
